Well, it’s happened, we made it an entire year of doing the podcast!
We celebrated by having a round table discussion with all of the contributors to the show and special guest Jason Hancock of the Docking Bay 94 Podcast. It was a good time talking with good people about a hobby that we all clearly enjoy.
Also on the show, AnnaBeth gave us another rousing story from her Rory’s Story Cubes and Kerensa joined me to talk a little bit about Project Dreamscape and just some random babbling about our bad movie parenting.
I hope that all who traveled to Dallas for BGG.Con had a fantastic time and have arrived back home healthy and rested. I hate that I didn’t attend this year, but I hope to start figuring out a way to make that not the case next year. My only issue is that I hate to leave half of my family out of the hobby that is also theirs. I would push for BGG.Fam in the spring but that’s too close to the end of school and our favorite convention, Geekway to the West, so that isn’t happening .
In the queue for the blog I have a couple games that I’d love to do reviews for and I think I am going to get started on those this week. We’ll also do a bit of a review of them on the podcast but I wanted to devote a bit more to the written review as the podcast is kind of becoming what I wanted it to be, a variety show for people to talk about what they’ve been playing. I’ll still do Kickstarter previews on the podcast for games that I want to do previews for that are offered. I love doing those for people who focus on the family aspect of gaming. But for the time being, I’ll be doing written reviews here on the blog and I think Eric Booth will be doing reviews on the podcast and Derek Davis will be doing an ongoing review to see how his views of a game change over a course of 10 weeks or so.
I did pick up Pandemic Legacy for the family as a Christmas gift and I kind of want to incorporate that into a blog post as well, but I have to figure out how to do that and not spoil other’s enjoyment of the game. I may just say to heck with it and put SPOILERS all over the post but warn people, but we’ll see.
Other than that, there are a couple things bouncing around in my head that I’d like to explore, it’s just a matter of finding the time to sit and write it all out.
In closing, I do want to thank everyone who has helped with the podcast over the past year either as a guest or as a contributor:
Contributors: Eric Booth, Ray Shell, Patrick Hillier, Chris Renshaw, Joe Brogno, Bill Corey and joining the show soon is Derek Davis.
Interviewees: Travis Hill, Dave Ferguson, Paul Grogan, Ken Grazier, Matt Wolfe, Brad and Kate Morrow
Most of all thank you to my family for tolerating what has turned into my Sunday ritual of writing, recording, editing and releasing, all in one day and more recently, even being a part of the show more and more.
And to everyone who has listened and read, even if it was just stopping by one time, thank you as well!!
Alright, it’s time to start on the next year!!
